We are and have been a family owned business since 1979. In the first several years we operated as a wholesale business, known as Unique Global Imports and serviced, and still do, many of the German ethnic festivals around the Milwaukee area; some of the most popular are: the largest German festival in the United States, German Fest located at the Meier Festival Grounds in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and various Oktoberfests in the area.
In 1987, after receiving many requests from our loyal festival followers we went retail and opened ALPINE BOUTIQUE & CHRISTMAS CHALET, at our current location, 8400 West Capitol Drive in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The gift shop is owned by Ken and Dorothea Pedersen and operated by Dorothea and their daughter, Sue. Dorothea and her family came to the United States from Germany in 1951 bringing with them some of their cherished German Traditions and customs. These traditions and customs we now try to bring to you with carefully chosen traditional gift items from Germany and other areas of Europe. Each year we travel to Germany, at least once or twice and selectively hand pick these beautiful German and European gifts we offer you in our shop.
